Dear Colleagues of Geographical Education and Related Subjects;
We are inviting you to an international geographical education symposium in one of the most beautiful and unique landscape: Land of Beautiful Horses Cappadoccia (Kapadokya).
International Geography Education Symposium organized by Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education, Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University University will take place between November 08 and 10, 2018 in Nevşehir, Turkey. The symposium will have two languages: English and in Turkish.
Especially last two decades, most of the problems related to geography are thought to originate from geography education. This is one of the reason to organize International Geography Education Symposium.
From the writing of the textbooks to the preparation of the national exam questions, from the problems encountered in the examinations to planning and conducting extracurricular activities, from the concept and information mistakes encountered in teaching to the development of effective course materials, it is in the education of geography to solve many problems.
It is thought that geography educators from primary to university level who want to share their activities with academic community will be included in their studies and it will be effective in blending theory and practice.
At the end of the sessions, workshops will be organized on geography education.
The word used today, Cappadocia, means "Land of Beautiful Horses" in Persian language. Cappadocia can be considered as geological and geomorphological formations, historical and cultural features, world heritage, conservation statues, and geography application laboratory with open air museums.
It is thought that the symposium will be carried out efficiently with practical field study to be organized within the scope of the symposium.
It is our desire to present you the natural and historical places of Cappadocia (Kapadokya in Turkish), to enjoy the natural beauties, to have an unforgettable congress with a relaxed and pleasant ambience in Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University during the most beautiful period of fall.
